Toronto’s Contribution Rebate Program reimburses eligible residents for a portion of what they donate to municipal council campaigns. Here’s roughly what you’d get back:
Rebates are issued by the City of Toronto after the campaign’s financial filing is reviewed. Eligibility rules apply, see toronto.ca for full details.
The fine print.
You must be an individual (not a corporation or union) donating your own funds.
Your billing address must be in Ontario, and your information must be complete and accurate for the rebate.
The maximum total contribution to one candidate is $1,200, which qualifies for a $641.67 rebate.
Donations of $25 or less don’t qualify for the City’s rebate program.
Incomplete donation information can void the contribution.
Rebates are issued by the City of Toronto after the election, not by the campaign.
